“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

Team Info

  • WE LOVE LIFE!

Our team aims to be an organization that provides a positive faith-based outlet for homeschool and private school youth within Iredell County NC.

Luke Harris founded this team in 2023 when he noticed that Iredell County did not have a faith-based club team for local youth runners. From there, Luke decided to develop an organization to serve the needs of youth runners. He believes Iredell County deserves this type of faith-based program and that is why Run 4 Life exists.

    • Come to one of our practices and see if running with our group is a fit for you and your family.

    • We are a no strings attached club team that is happy to have anyone running with us.

    • If you want to compete with us, we ask that you wear our uniform and compete as a Run 4 Life member.

    • Our team fee of $50 covers race registration fees throughout the season, Website management fees, TeamSnap subscription, electrolyte mixes, helps cover the cost of our Invitational we put on, and uniform/apparel costs (limited if necessary for those that need it). If cost is a barrier, please talk to one of the coaches and we will negotiate a viable arrangement for you and your family.

  • Homeschoolers in the Iredell County area and surrounding Counties are welcome to join us.

Private school students who do not have a Cross Country team are welcome to join us.

We offer Cross Country running for 2nd graders on up to 12th grade.

    • Practices will be held at parks in the greater Troutman/Statesville area and will be individually announced through the Team Snap app. Locations are based on the block of training our team is in at that time.

    • Summer practices will commence in June on Monday and Thursday evenings. These times will vary as we follow the sunset times throughout the season to run at the coolest times possible for our team.

    • Saturday practices are in the mid-morning.

    • All practices are approximately 90 minutes and consist of a warmup, team devotional during stretches, workout/run, and cooldown.

    • As the season progresses the nature of the practices will become more intense as the athletes’ fitness levels increase. Parents are encouraged to compel their children to properly hydrate and to make sure the children are aware of the proper caloric intake needed for maintaining peak fitness and performance.

    • Further details can be found in the parent handbook and nutritional pages here on our site.

  • Typically we compete in 10 to 12 meets throughout the season, all of our meets are within 90 minutes of the Statesville area.

    • All of our meets offer both High School and Middle School competitive races. The NC Runners Middle School XC festival is the only exception to this, it is a Middle School/Elementary only event.

    • There is no obligation at all to compete with our team at the meets, just having you out with us is a blessing! For those choosing not to compete, there is no charge.

    • Smaller meets typically last 2-3 hours and we ask that you arrive 45 minutes prior to the meet so you are able get your bib, warm-up, and stretch in time for your start. Larger meets take half a day.

Our full meet schedule can be found HERE
